Hindernissen zijn juist de uitdagingen die we nodig hebben om onze &#8218;aandachtsspier&#8216; te trainen. Een van de gewoontepatronen van ons brein is bij voorbeeld dat het altijd weer zoekt naar nieuwigheden. Dat is evolutionair nu eenmaal zo gegroeid, zodat we niets in onze omgeving over het hoofd zien, wat ons overleven zou kunnen bedreigen of zou kunnen vergemakkelijken. Dus, aan zichzelf overgelaten, zoekt ons brein naar nieuwe prikkels. Wat doen we in meditatie? We slaan het hele gedoetje gade en oefenen ons om terug te keren naar het hier en nu. We leren ons brein te temmen.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"pg-3302-4\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" >\n<div id=\"pgc-3302-4-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\"  data-weight=\"1\" >\n<div id=\"panel-3302-4-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"4\" data-style=\"{&quot;background_display&quot;:&quot;tile&quot;}\" >\n<div class=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\">\n<h3 class=\"widget-title\">Vaardig navigeren<\/h3>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n<p>Het opmerken van hindernissen tijdens onze meditatie is daarbij de noodzakelijke uitdaging. Een uitdaging die nodig is om vaardig te leren navigeren in de innerlijke wereld van ons bewustzijn. Ons brein verandert daarbij mee, want alles wat we aandacht geven heeft tot gevolg dat neuronale netwerken in onze hersenen groeien en veranderen. Zo zijn we niet langer overgeleverd aan onze gewoontesporen maar kunnen we scheppend deelnemen aan het functioneren van ons brein. Deze drie gebieden matchen precies met drie verschillende lagen in ons brein, die op elkaar bouwen: hersenstam, limbisch systeem en neocortex.<\/p>\n<p>In een meditatietraining richten we onze aandacht\u00a0 op de directe ervaring van onze adem en ons lichaam. Met het gevolg dat de diepste laag in ons brein in balans komt: de hersenstam. Zij horen bij\u00a0 de hersenstam. Verlangen en afkeer zijn de emotioneel geladen hindernissen en die horen bij het limbische systeem. En twijfel is een typische activiteit van ons denkend vermogen die zetelt in de neocortex.<\/p>\n<p>Bewust waarnemen hoe deze hindernissen in ons werkzaam zijn, activeert een tweede deel van onze neocortex: onze prefrontale cortex, het besturingssysteem in ons brein. We krijgen overzicht en keuzevrijheid!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"pg-3302-7\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\"
