Het limbisch systeem kun je zien als een soort persoonlijke beveiligingsdienst. Zonder dat we ons hier van bewust zijn scant dit systeem de hele dag of onze omgeving veilig, onveilig of neutraal is.<\/p>\n<p>Omdat we in een tijd van veel veranderingen, onzekerheden en maatschappelijke druk leven, voelen veel mensen zich onzeker. Het limbisch systeem gaat dan op onveilig en activeert allerlei processen in ons lichaam als voorbereiding op potentieel onveilige situaties. Onze bloeddruk en hartslag gaan iets omhoog, de spierspanning neemt iets toe en we komen in een staat van licht verhoogde alertheid. Een gezond mechanisme, totdat het een min of meer chronisch karakter krijgt. Wij schakelen het daarentegen maanden achter elkaar in, wanneer we piekeren over ons zelf, collega\u2019s, vergaderingen, targets, enz..&#8217;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"panel-2840-0-0-2\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor\" data-index=\"2\" data-style=\"{&quot;background_display&quot;:&quot;tile&quot;}\" >\n<div class=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\">\n<h3 class=\"widget-title\">Veilig, onveilig of neutraal<\/h3>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n<p>Als we mindfulness toepassen leren we te observeren of we ons\u00a0 prettig, onprettig of neutraal voelen. Voor ons brein en autonome zenuwstelsel betekent dit het herkennen van veilige, onveilige of neutrale prikkels, intern en extern. We leren door de training in mindfulness ons lijf bij gevoelens van onveiligheid terug te brengen in de veilige modus.
